What is an apostille?

Apostille and consular legalization — what's the difference?
An apostille is a simplified form of document legalization, which requires the least costs in terms of price and time, because it is issued by one competent authority and shall be valid in all the countries, which have acceded to the Hague Convention.
If you are preparing documents for the country that has not acceded to the Hague Convention, then you need consular legalization. This is a longer procedure that involves the work of a notary public, certification of document in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
